Elgin – Art Richoz, noted for his close ties to veterans from World War II to the Iraqi war and whose own combat wounds earned him the nickname “Purple Heart Art” has died. He was 85. His wife of 65 years, Elinor, said her husband died Sunday evening after a fall last week at the couple’s Elgin home.
